Anna Hiss Gymnasium

The goal for this project was to design wayfinding and experiential graphic interventions for Anna Hiss Gymnasium, the first women’s gym at UT constructed in 1931 that is under renovation to house design and robotics students beginning in 2021.  While both disciplines live in different colleges within The University of Texas, this wayfinding system was designed to build community for the people involved in both majors.

This was a project done with Minh Cao.

Problem: How might we design a system that highlights the ambition rooted in the history of AHG + inspires and supports these multidisciplinary students?

solution:

A system of environmental graphic design that  targets goal setting and ambition. Loud graphics with pared down basebuilding signs.
